About Us
The firm focuses on the healthcare sector and specializes in early stage investments. Main target area of interest is in pharmaceuticals, diagnostics/medical devices, digital healthcare but we also actively consider opportunities in the cosmeceuticals and nutraceuticals.
Our vision is to become the investment firm most preferred by investors and venture companies. To do so, we strive to identify world-class ideas and technology breakthroughs in healthcare. At the same time, prudent capital allocation and trend-sensitive risk management is thought out and executed. We have also assembled the best internal and external teams to proactively guide portfolio companies through uncharted and perilous stages of growth.
Team
Our founders and investment professionals were educated at Korean & US institutions and possess extensive experience and in the domestic and global healthcare industry.
Andy Jang
Andy received his doctorate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has held various positions at Sanofi, Soligenix and Boston Scientific. Before Stassets Investment, he was a Managing Director at Atinum Investment.
Michael Park
Michael did his undergraduate studies in Bioengineering at University of Pennsylvania and received his doctorate degree in Molecular Biology from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. He started his career at Bioneer, a biotech company, and moved on to LG Life Sciences and CJ Healthcare. His most recent position was at Partners Investment as Managing Director.
Justin Doh
Justin studied Computer Science & Industrial System Engineering and Venture Enterprise at Yonsei University. He went on to founding a digital healthcare startup, and later joined SONY Korea. He has considerable experience in investing from his career at SBI Investment Korea/SBI Korea Holdings and Fortune Partners.
Funds and Portfolios
Stassets Investment is currently managing about 230 Billion KRW in AUM which is spread across three blind funds and six project funds. To date, Stassets has fully liquidated one fund with an IRR of 116% and expects to liquidate more funds in the next few years. The list of Limited Partners of the funds boasts top tier financial institutions and strategic investors with most of them participating in multiple funds.
The firm, after extensive research and deliberation, has selectively invested in 17 companies. Most of the portfolio companies are in the healthcare sector and encompass biotech, diagnostics, medical device & instruments and digital healthcare. Stassets expects to diversify its portfolio in the newer vintage funds.
